The PFEX series is filled with two filter media that reduce the iron concentration (dissolved and solid) in the water, eliminate hydrogen sulfide, the metallic taste and odor of the water, and normalize the pH value of the water.
Water with too high an iron content is the main cause of wear and tear on industrial equipment and household appliances due to the deposits of so-called "scale". Iron salts damage textiles washed in such water and irritate the skin. They cause various pathologies, such as "Kashin-Beck" disease. The direct consequence of too high an iron content in water is the formation of rusty edges on sanitary equipment (bathtubs, sinks).
The filter cartridge is filled with a mixture of pyrolusite and differently grained quartz sand granules.
The second layer of the filter (cleaning) is made of polypropylene fleece and cleans the water of solid contaminants from a size of 10 mcr.

Service life: approx. 3 - 6 months or approx. 10,000 l (depending on water quality and flow rate - max. 3 mg/L FE² and 0.1 mg/l manganese)
